Partnership aims to transform the healthcare industry

Cognizant has announced that it is expanding its collaboration with Microsoft designed to deliver innovative solutions that will propel healthcare businesses forward.

Together in 2022, the companies launched Cognizant Sustainability Accelerator, powered by the Microsoft Cloud and Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability, which is designed to provide accurate data and digital capabilities for businesses to track and report sustainability goals. The solution combines Cognizant’s deep experience in IoT and data analytics with Microsoft’s industry-leading cloud capabilities. Most recently, Cognizant has expanded the focus of its existing Microsoft Center of Excellence in AI and other next-gen technologies, including 5G and Azure,  to drive competencies across architecture, technology leadership, value delivery tools, and enablement.

Surya Gummadi, President of Cognizant Americas, comments: We’re pleased with the growth of our long-term relationship with Microsoft. Together, we plan to advance the progress of innovative technologies, like AI, strategically across all vertical markets. As two veterans in the technology space, we’re looking forward to working with Microsoft to achieve that goal.”

Cognizant has been a trusted partner of Microsoft since 2002, collaborating on various advancements across the technology ecosystem. As a premier digital transformation partner, the Cognizant Microsoft Business Group delivers industry-leading, end-to-end Microsoft-centric cloud solutions aimed at delivering innovation and maximising business outcomes.

Cognizant and Microsoft have together made a strategic commitment with the goal of transforming the healthcare industry. As an early Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare partner, Cognizant has designed solutions that leverage Microsoft Azure services including Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources, API Services, and Teams integration to improve scalability and reliability. As part of this healthcare collaboration the two companies have most recently:

  • Jointly developed an integration roadmap between Cognizant’s TriZetto healthcare products and Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare to streamline healthcare operations and support better patient care.

  • Scaled resources with Nuance Communications for their Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) solution, which is at the forefront of conversational AI and ambient clinical intelligence. Since introducing DAX to clinicians and patients nearly three years ago, Nuance has experienced impressive demand for and broader clinical use of the DAX solution.

  • Collaborated to deliver a digital health solution to enhance remote patient monitoring for improved medical care. Leveraging components of the Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, the solution is the first of several planned offerings that combine remote patient monitoring and virtual health, utilising products like smartwatches, blood pressure monitors, and glucose meters to collect and communicate patient health data to providers.

“Cognizant is delivering innovative and transformative solutions on the Microsoft Cloud platform, and we value the work they’ve done to help customers transform their businesses in specific industries, such as Healthcare,” said Omar Abbosh, President, Industry Solutions at Microsoft. “Our continued partnership is a testament to the impact we’ve made in the last 20 years, and we look forward to driving even more innovation and growth in the future.”

“We are proud of what we have achieved from our strong relationship with Microsoft,” added Ravi Sivalingam, Head of Microsoft Business Group at Cognizant. “Together, we expect to continue driving innovation and leveraging our deep expertise at the confluence of industry and technology to provide high-quality support to our shared customers.”
