Faster Information Management

The latest version of Autoscribe’s Matrix Gemini Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) on show at Lab Innovations features a number of enhancements to increase the speed of operation. In particular, functionality with large numbers of samples and/or tests is enhanced.

Autoscribe’s Managing Director, John Boother, explained: “Laboratories in clinical diagnostics and many other scientific areas are handling ever increasing volumes of data. We have customers running hundreds of thousands of samples a day, each possibly requiring thousands of individual measurements or calculations. We are constantly looking to improve our product and make use of improvements in PC processors so speeding up some of the functionality offers real practical benefit to our customers.”

“These improvements are just one facet of our unique ‘future proofing’ product support service for the Matrix family of LIMS,” he continued. “The Matrix product line has been developed to specifically ensure backwards compatibility and easy upgrades for existing customers, meaning that if customers take out a support and maintenance contract they are getting a ‘LIMS for life’ – there are no hidden additional costs for major upgrades.”
