EU launches €12.5m push to bolster Europe’s AI ecosystem amid race for technological sovereignty

The call for proposals on 28 April is intended to improve coordination between Europe’s growing network of AI infrastructure hubs and expand access to high-quality data, applications and expertise across the bloc.

The European Union has launched a new €12.5 million funding call to strengthen Europe’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.

The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking announced the call for proposals on 28 April, saying the initiative is designed to improve coordination between Europe’s growing network of AI infrastructure hubs and expand access to high-quality data, applications and expertise across the bloc.
