LMS SCADAS Recorder

LMS International has launched its LMS SCADAS Recorder for autonomous, in-field testing applications.

Built on the SCADAS Mobile platform, the LMS SCADAS Recorder has been designed for applications such as proving ground testing, large production plants, off-road vehicles, wind turbines and many other demanding applications. The LMS SCADAS Recorder can be used as an autonomous recorder, as a smart recorder with a wireless PDA connection or as a front-end system for in-field and laboratory applications. The system is compatible with major sensor types and is seamlessly integrated with the LMS Test.Lab, LMS Test.Xpress and LMS TecWare software for noise, vibration and durability analysis. This extends the LMS platform to the broadest possible range of data acquisition and analysis tasks, including autonomous data recording.

The LMS SCADAS Recorder offers three solutions in a single package. First, for quick on-the-go data acquisition, the LMS SCADAS Recorder is a practical standalone data recorder that operates without a PC connection thanks to the embedded data acquisition engine and its CompactFlash data storage card. Secondly, with a wireless PDA connection, it acts as an enhanced smart data recorder for on-the-spot data monitoring and measurement validation. Finally, the embedded UTP interface lets the LMS SCADAS Recorder operate as a PC front-end system for in-field and laboratory applications.

A rugged instrument with MIL-STD-810F compliancy, the LMS SCADAS Recorder’s sturdy and robust design can stand up to the most extreme climate, shock and vibration conditions. The secure data storage and an integrated internal battery guarantees hours of operation, making it possible to run the LMS SCADAS Recorder unattended. The LMS SCADAS Recorder includes 24-bit ADC per channel, 138dB SFDR, an analogue and digital anti-aliasing filter, ultra-low noise signal conditioning, and a channel-independent sampling frequency of 102.4kHz. The LMS SCADAS Recorder line-up can support eight to 40 channels and up to 376 channels in a master slave configuration.

During the recording process, the LMS SCADAS Recorder – connected to a PDA – provides instant graphical and tabular feedback per channel. Besides information such as overload, min, max, RMS, RPM, GPS and CAN-bus data channels, users can also access feedback regarding remaining battery time and remaining storage capacity. Engineers can be fully confident in the test-run quality with instant data validation. LMS SCADAS Recorder data can be further analyzed with the extensive range of LMS Test.Lab, LMS Test.Xpress and LMS TecWare data processing solutions. It is also compatible with a wide range of third-party processing applications through ready-to-use data formats.
