Olympus has introduced a new pathology test request management system, RequestVision, to streamline the process of medical testing. The software reduces administration time and improves test turnaround times.
The new software allows GPs to automatically log orders for patient tests with laboratories using a web-based system. When samples are taken, a barcode contains all the information about the patient that the lab requires, simplifying sample recognition at the laboratory and removing the need for manual data input. In addition to increasing throughput, this also reduces the risk of transcription errors.
