Kalabie ELN 3.5

Agilent Technologies has released version 3.5 of its Kalabie electronic lab notebook (ELN).

Kalabie ELN now electronically processes analytical work requests, integrates with Agilent OpenLAB enterprise content management system and Accelrys’ Pipeline Pilot, refines user access rights and offers a web service application programming interface to experiment data.

Kalabie ELN 3.5 now contains an Analytical Request Manager module that handles all this communication electronically, keeping the appropriate participants informed and streamlining the workflow cycle to get more work accomplished in less time.

Also new to Kalabie ELN is integration with Accelrys/Scitegic Pipeline Pilot, scientific data integration, analysis and reporting system. Kalabie ELN 3.5 essentially becomes a data source for Pipeline Pilot protocols, enabling the retrieval, merging and analysis of data from Kalabie ELN across the entire enterprise.

Further enhancing access to data and protocols across far-flung organisations, Kalabie ELN 3.5 also works seamlessly with Agilent OpenLAB Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system. OpenLAB ECM integrates electronic information from instruments, local data systems and laboratory electronic information into a secure, searchable, archivable system.

Agilent has designed new User Rights Management functionality into the Kalabie ELN, enabling administrators to precisely control who has access to which information. A contract research organisation, for example, can maintain secure walls between teams working on different customer projects.

Kalabie ELN is scalable and built for cross-team collaboration. The system is designed to simplify and accelerate the R&D process while streamlining data management. Kalabie ELN also helps regulated labs comply with 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

In addition to the basic Kalabie ELN, there are industry-specific versions for biology, medicinal chemistry, process development, dermo-cosmetics and other specialised applications.
