BatchReactor (update)

Providing simulation and optimisation software to the process industries, ProSim has released a new version of its software for batch chemical reactors simulation, BatchReactor. Combining detailed equipment modelling, reaction engineering and advanced numerical methods, the software creates a simulation environment for chemists and chemical engineers. It enables people from the chemical, pharmaceutical or specialty chemicals industry to test alternative synthesis routes and new production strategies through effective use of simulation in parallel with their lab and pilot plant experimentations.

BatchReactor can be used at different stages of the process development, such as when designing a new process to find the optimal operating conditions and when implementing these conditions in an optimal way in the industrial unit for a safe, stable and effective production. The intuitive graphical user interface eases the process visualisation on a time-line and the integration of all the parameters to run the simulation.

Additionally, the software features a flexible and efficient thermodynamic package and relies on proven and efficient numerical methods. The thermodynamics is managed by ProSim's physical properties and phase equilibrium calculation server, Simulis Thermodynamics, which provides access to a complete set of calculation services and all ProSim thermodynamic models, as well as a wide library of more than 2,000 pure components. Simulis Technologies, which allows users to define and manage their own private technology database, and Simulis Kinetics, a powerful kinetic fitting tool for the identification of kinetic parameters and heat of reaction from experimental data, are also included as part of the software.
