LabVantage secures US federal agency contract

LabVantage has been awarded a five-year Information Technology (IT) Schedule 70 Contract with the US General Services Administration (GSA) to sell the former's Sapphire LIMS and related services to eligible US federal agencies. The GSA Schedule uses the buying power of the federal government to obtain pre-negotiated contract terms and pricing to simplify and streamline LIMS procurement for federal agencies.

'We are extremely excited to be selected by the US government as a trusted vendor to provide best-in-class solutions for government organisations that need a LIMS,' said Ron Kasner, vice president of corporate development at LabVantage. 'Today, government agencies are under significant pressure to acquire solutions that satisfy their sophisticated requirements. With the contract schedule, LabVantage now provides an accelerated purchasing process, with even more competitive pricing and significantly reduced procurement costs.'

To obtain an award, a company must first satisfy the strict criteria set forth by GSA, demonstrating both superior quality and competitive pricing. LabVantage underwent an extensive vetting process, including a detailed financial assessment, credit check, and reference check. In the schedule, LabVantage has agreed to offer government agencies a pre-negotiated package for software licenses, software maintenance and support, training, and professional services.

'Receiving a GSA Schedule Contract Award is the culmination of an extensive evaluation process conducted by the GSA and is a true testament to LabVantage's capabilities, performance history, and customer satisfaction,' stated Jim Aurelio, CEO and president of LabVantage. 'In addition, since many state and local government agencies also require a bidding company to be a GSA Schedule 70 Contractor, these organisations can more easily solicit and procure laboratory informatics solutions from LabVantage.'
