Voxler 2

Golden Software has released Voxler 2, a complete scientific 3D data visualisation and graphics program, which enables users to import data quickly and easily in a multitude of file types and create representative graphics.

This robust, yet easy-to-use, program gives the user the power to display data in a variety of colours, views, and 3D formats: 3D rendered volumes, isosurfaces, contours, 3D slices, orthographic and oblique images, scatter plots, stream lines, and vector plots.

Golden Software has added many new key features in this major upgrade of the Voxler program. Users can now import more file types: vector files (including BLN, DDF, DLG, DXF, E00, GSB, GSI, MIF, SDTS, and SHP), georeferenced images in their real-world XY locations, Excel 2007 XLSX files, Access MDB, and dBase DBF database files.

As a benefit to Golden Software Surfer users, Voxler 2 imports Surfer GRD, DEM, and other 2D lattices with options that allow easier scaling of maps using these data formats. In addition to the advanced import options, users can now harness the power of 64-bit versions of Windows, re-evaluate modifications using undo and redo commands, and export image and data files in more than 50 file formats. After customising a 3D model, the user can capture video animation of the moving model and save it as an AVI file, or select from numerous image and data export options to more efficiently share their results with colleagues.

Voxler's functionality can be integrated with any ActiveX Automation-compatible software. Visual Basic, C++, and Perl scripts can be used to call Voxler to automate repetitive functions to quickly create the same type of model over and over again.

Voxler 2 is designed primarily for scientific applications, yet appropriate for anyone who wants to see the distribution of 3D data. Frequent users include geoscientists, environmental professionals, meteorologists, oceanologists, biologists, bio-technicians, engineers, research and development groups, geo-statisticians, seismologists, GIS researchers, and medical professionals.
