Version 9.0 (update)

Integrated Engineering Software, a developer of hybrid simulation tools for electromagnetic, thermal and structural design analysis, has now completed updates across its product range.  Version 9.0 of Integrated's tools now include the ability for simulation results to be imported directly into Tecplot’s CFD visualisation tools, offering engineers greater opportunity to model and visualise their ideas more accurately.

‘Whilst our simulation tools already include a visualisation capability, the company understood that many engineers were accustomed to working with Tecplot software for visualisation and report generation,’ commented Bruce Klimpke, technical director at Integrated Engineering Software. ‘It was, therefore, logical when re-engineering our whole range of products for V9 to ensure that every user had even more capability at his or her fingertips.

‘It is now possible for users of Tecplot 360, for example, to generate 2D and 3D plots from raw calculated data with a new format-data-export feature. Those who choose to view and manipulate their plots in Tecplot 360 can now easily export plots from most of Integrated applications and open them in Tecplot 360, where they can further manipulate and view the data,’ Klimpke added.

This ability is available across the range of Integrated's simulation tools, including its three dimensional programs electrostatic (Coulomb), eddy current (Faraday) and heat transfer (Celsius) solvers, and Singula, its high frequency field solver. Tecplot product compatibility will be included with Lorenz, the 2D/3D electromagnetic analysis and hybrid simulation software in 2011.

It will also be compatible with Chronos, Integrated’s new time domain field solver for modelling and simulation of RF and antenna applications, which is due to be launched next year. It is based on the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method combined with efficient mesh generation algorithms and will provide designers with the following techniques: Finite Difference Time Domain, Method of Moments (MoM), and the Finite Element Method (FEM).
