X-ISS has introduced DecisionHPC, a software package for reporting on the availability, utilisation and performance of heterogeneous HPC environments.

DecisionHPC provides dashboard, analytics, and reporting software allowing executives, managers, users, and support staff to access vital information on every area of HPC including cluster resources, network, storage, and schedulers. Enterprises gain a holistic view of their HPC investments by reporting across all heterogeneous, geographically-dispersed environments as well as users, applications, and projects.

DecisionHPC is designed to gather metrics from a variety of HPC deployments, both proprietary and open source, and consolidate them into a single repository. The design is very modular to allow integration with new and different HPC environments as needed. Consolidated views of the information are then made available to the various stakeholders and can be customised as required.

The flexibility and the richness of information give stakeholders the ability to make good decisions quickly. For example, one manager can be looking at heat maps and gauges to determine current hot spots while another can be looking at reports to analyse past and current performance. At the same time IT and operations could be looking at a different view to isolate a problem with a job or system and use that to effectively communicate with each other. All are able to use the software to make effective and timely decisions.

DecisionHPC product functionality includes heat maps, batch and live reporting, alerting, and portlets, among other features. It is a web-based solution that can scale to thousands of nodes and is designed to be flexible to meet the requirements of today's HPC cluster environments.
