LabVantage has announced that the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York (OCME) has selected its Sapphire LIMS to bolster its cross-departmental forensic operations. As one of the largest medical examiners' offices in the USA, OCME currently uses many disparate software systems and manual procedures in an effort to manage the various components of its forensic data. When defining the requirements for streamlining its processes, especially for chain-of-custody, evidence tracking, case management, and analytical result management, OCME determined that a software solution that consolidates the variety of data sources while addressing their diverse functional needs was the best path to pursue. In addition, the experience of the solution provider was of vital importance to OCME.
'With seasoned professionals to implement a strong functional software solution, Sapphire LIMS, LabVantage is the selected vendor for OCME to partner with, especially when considering the nature of our complex forensic operations,' explains Roni Amiel, chief information officer of OCME. 'As we continue to work closely with the LabVantage team, I envision that the enhancements in data and information management will significantly streamline our current procedures and help us take our operations and services to the next level.'
