Altair tools chosen for aeronautics development

Altair Engineering has announced that that L&L Products Europe, the French provider of engineered sealing and structural solutions, has extended its use of Altair’s HyperWorks suite of CAE tools to aeronautical projects.

Aeronautics is the latest application field in which L&L uses HyperWorks successfully, along with the company’s work in the automotive, commercial and agricultural vehicle industries. The HyperWorks suite is used for projects in all industries the company covers, especially for acoustic analysis and structural-part optimisation.

'Within the Altair suite of tools, we employ HyperMesh, HyperCrash, Radioss, HyperView, and OptiStruct, using them nearly the same way for our customers in all of the industries we serve,' said Frank Braymand, project and innovation manager at L&L Products Europe SAS.

'HyperMesh and HyperView are the standard pre- and post-processing tools for all the solvers we apply, because they are very user-friendly and provide a good interface to many different crash codes. Also, because of its unique licensing system, HyperWorks gives us the flexibility we need in our development process. With this system, we can use the same licensing units during the day for pre- and post-processing tasks and during the nights and weekends to run the solvers.'
