Abe supercomputer retires

After nearly four years of service to researchers at the University of Illinois, USA, and across the rest of America, the Abe supercomputer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is scheduled to retire on 15 April 2011. The center plans to replace Abe and a hybrid CPU/GPU cluster called Lincoln with a new cluster combining hardware from Dell and Nvidia by 30 June. More details on this new system will be available soon.
