SC20 is the premier international conference showcasing the many ways high performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis lead to advances in scientific discovery, research, education, and commerce. The annual event, created and sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), attracts HPC professionals and educators from around the globe to participate in its complete technical education program, workshops, tutorials, a world-class exhibit area, demonstrations, and the world’s fastest temporary computer network.

Exhibitors:

BittWare

BittWare, a Molex company, is gearing up for SC20 with plans to launch a new FPGA accelerator card leveraging the latest Intel technology. This news represents the latest from BittWare to support modern datacenter workloads while driving innovations from the edge to the cloud.

In advance of news distribution on 11/17, BittWare is holding select briefings under news embargo to share more details as well as an update on BittWare’s achievements in designing and manufacturing enterprise-class FPGA hardware to address the emerging demands of next-gen datacentre, networking and edge compute workloads.

Interested in speaking to Molex and learning how this latest accelerator card can deliver up to 40% higher performance or up to 40% lower power, depending on application requirements? We are currently scheduling calls Wednesday to Friday (11/11-13) from 1:00-3:00 pm ET or 4:00-5:00 pm ET.  Let us know if we can calendar something for you.

Boston Limited

Boston are pleased to be participating in SC once again, in “normal” times our physical booth has a constant stream of visitors all wanting to speak to our experts at Boston Labs – we haven’t let the fact we’re participating digitally stop us – attendees can still utilise the Boston Labs team and have their burning HPC questions answered via our virtual booth – We’ve also got a number of live events taking place around HPC via our HPC roadshow in collaboration with leading vendors; Supermicro, Intel, Panasas, AMD, WEKA, Prime Computer and more -you can also enter our competition for free! Find us in the Exhibits section under Boston Limited or follow this URL.

Hartree Centre

The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Hartree Centre is home to some of the most advanced computing, data and AI technologies in the UK. From early-stage SMEs to international corporations, their experts work with industry and the research community to address real-life challenges and accelerate the adoption of digital technologies, delivering transformative gains in performance, productivity and time to market. The Hartree Centre is organising and co-organising several workshops for the SC20 virtual conference this year, covering topics including Best Practices for HPC Training and Education, Scalable Algorithms for Large Scale Systems and Python for High Performance and Scientific Computing.

NASA

Scientists and engineers across the country use NASA supercomputers to: research various aspects of the COVID-19 virus and connections between the virus and the environment; help design quieter, more fuel-efficient aircraft and advanced air mobility vehicles to safely transport people and goods in urban and underserved areas; support critical design decisions for safely launching the Orion spacecraft, which will carry astronauts to deep space and back to Earth; better understand how the Sun affects technologies on Earth; unlock the mysteries of the universe—and more. Come visit our virtual booth to learn about the latest research results supporting NASA missions for the benefit of humankind. Nvidia

At SC20, NVIDIA will showcase how GPU computing and high-performance networking are transforming computational science and AI. Don’t miss the NVIDIA SC20 Special Address on Nov 16th at 3PM PST (6PM EST), to get an get an in-depth overview of NVIDIA’s latest innovations. In addition, visit the virtual theatre to hear from speakers from various leading industries and domains, along with featured demos, Deep Learning Institute courses, related content, and more.

OpenMP

The vendor-neutral OpenMP standard has been helping scientists and engineers to parallelize their code to get faster results since 1997, but continues to evolve. SC'20 sees version 5.1 of the OpenMP API, three tutorials, a BOF, and many short, free, 'Booth Talk' videos from researchers and users. Version 5 .1 provides more information to the compiler to allow improved optimization, adds improvements in the use of OpenMP from modern C++, adds improvements in device interactions, adds an easier declaration of environment specific functions, and allows the user to generate compile-time errors and warnings. It fully supports C11, C++11, C++14, C++17, and C++20, as well as Fortran 2008 with partial support for Fortran 2018. Enhancements to support for offload to accelerator (GPU) devices make OpenMP the optimal choice for performant, portable, code that can exploit current and future machines.  More information at link.openmp.org/sc20

Panasas

The Future of HPC Storage – Join Panasas For Expert Discussions at Virtual SC20

The performance/cost conundrum, advances in parallel file system architecture, rethinking tiering, All-Flash vs. hybrid solutions – there’s a lot going on in HPC storage and we have brought together a group of experts ready to engage with you and share their findings during Virtual SC20.

Join us for a panel session hosted by Addison Snell of Intersect360, a Birds-of-a-Feather event, video chats with storage experts, and fun After-Hours sessions. We are also featuring a virtual demo Dynamic Data Acceleration, a proprietary software feature of the PanFS parallel file system that automatically adapts to diverse and changing workloads and file sizes to deliver a consistently fast, total-performance HPC storage solution – no tuning or manual intervention required.
