Pittcon announces networking topics

The Pittsburgh Conference released the topics for the Conferee Networking Sessions (CNS) offered at the 60th annual Pittcon Conference and Exposition, 8-13 March 2009, at McCormick Place South, Chicago, Illinois.

There are currently 33 networking sessions scheduled; 19 of which are new, and based on conferee recommendation, 14 are returning.

Pittcon conferee networking chairman David Pensenstadle, said: 'Our goal for this year's networking is to create groups that will stay together year after year to share interests and experiences and also, to involve instrument manufacturers who can participate in discussions with users and work with these groups to understand instrument limitations and improve instrument capability.'

Conferee Networking Sessions allow instrument users to discuss techniques, methods, common problems, and limitations of instruments and techniques used in their work. These sessions, which average 18 participants per topic, are also a perfect forum for users to discuss with instrument manufacturers ways to improve instruments used in their laboratories. This is important feedback for many manufacturers.

Conferee Networking Sessions at Pittcon have been growing for the past three years and now include informal discussions on a variety of subjects from biofuels, LIMS, and regulatory compliance to lab safety and teaching.
