McGill University gains new HPC cluster

A new Linux high-performance computing cluster has been deployed at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The new cluster includes more than 1,200 IBM System x iDataPlex nodes, interconnected with QLogic TrueScale QDR InfiniBand switches and adapters that provide extremely low latency and substantial bandwidth for moving data to and from storage. It delivers the fastest supercomputer performance in Quebec to support advanced scientific and industrial research.
