DEM solutions appoints distributor for India

DEM Solutions, the provider of discrete element modelling software and services, has appointed Caezen Technologies as is distributor in India.

The appointment follows the successful sale of DEM's EDEM package to one of India's largest multinationals in the minerals, chemical and materials industry. The use of EDEM in the simulation of materials handling and processing equipment reduces the need for physical prototypes and shorter development times.

Ian Williamson, vice president of sales at DEM Solutions, said: 'We see many great opportunities in India for the rapid adoption of EDEM as a key development tool. Caezen Technologies will provide our customers with the highest level of local technical support and training.'

Hari Doss, director of Caezen Technologies, added: 'The focus of industry thus far has been in the structural (FEA) and fluids (CFD) worlds. However, there is a huge opportunity in India for driving efficiencies in the area of bulk material handling of granular flows. EDEM's unique capabilities for modelling particle-particle, particle-structure and particle-fluid systems allow us to serve our existing markets of mining (minerals and coal), oil and gas, pharmaceutical and other similar industries across India dealing with bulk handling. We are also excited about EDEM's potential usage in our premier academic and research labs to further our understanding of granular flows.'
