Cray awarded $18 million supercomputer contract from New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and atmospheric research

Cray has today announced that it has been awarded a contract with the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) - valued at more than $18 million - to provide NIWA and its partner, the New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI), with three Cray supercomputers – two Cray XC50 supercomputers and a Cray CS400 cluster supercomputer

Maplesoft and ETAS announce battery cell simulator package for testing and calibration of battery management systems

ETAS and Maplesoft have announced the release of a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Battery Cell Simulator package which satisfies the highest demands for the test and calibration of Battery Management Systems. The solution is based on Maplesoft’s efficient, high-fidelity MapleSim battery model and ETAS’ high-precision Battery Cell Simulator (BCS) BCS-LABCAR.

Qlucore launches Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Module

Qlucore, a provider of bioinformatics visualisation software, has announced the beta version of Qlucore Omics Explorer 3.3. This includes a completely new Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Module, and range of new functionalities for the base version.

The NGS Module will enable additional functionality related to data generated with NGS technologies which will make it possible to dynamically visualise and analyse NGS data.
