The 49th edition of the TOP500 list has been released in conjunction with the opening session of the ISC High Performance conference, which is taking place this week in Frankfurt, Germany. The Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) has set a new record for the number of core hours awarded during the 17th call for large-scale proposals – the combined total for these projects was more than 2.1 billion core hours across the three GCS supercomputers.
