BioDiscovery has released Nexus DB, a new repository for storing, querying and sharing of genomic variation data from its Nexus Copy Number software. This repository addresses many of the high demand market requirements. Namely, it provides a secure off-site storage to ensure 24/7 access to all data being generated with automated backup and versioning control. Next, it provides a means to query results across multiple projects allowing users to build on their previous or related work. Finally, it facilitates collaborative work by making it easy to access and review data from anywhere in the world by any group of users. Built on the Amazon Web Services infrastructure platform, Nexus DB runs on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) with the data stored in Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). Extensive security features are implemented to easily provide secure individual and group level access.
Nexus DB is an off-site repository for redundant back up of data from projects created within BioDiscovery’s Nexus Copy Number software. Nexus DB is easily accessed from within the Nexus Copy Number client application with secure password protected login from individual user accounts. Various consortia and special interest groups can be easily formed within Nexus DB to limit access to certain data to members of specific groups.
