Penguin Computing

Penguin Computing has released the Relion 2808GT, its new supercomputing server that supports eight GPUs or coprocessors in two rack units – and, according to the company, provides a higher compute density than any other server on the market.

The system’s eight GPUs or coprocessors are supported by a dual socket platform based on Intel’s Xeon E5-2600 product family. The Relion 2808GT also features an on-board Dual 10GbE BASE-T controller and up to 512GB of ECC memory.

Fully configured with eight Nvidia K20 GPUs, for example, a single Relion 2808GT can achieve 28Tflops of single precision floating point performance and is suited to running scientific and engineering applications that support GPUs or coprocessors such as Matlab, Amber or Abaqus.
