Data protection specialist NovaStor has introduced NovaBackUp 14.1 with a new interface and free 2GB of online storage. The free storage is intended to allow users to keep a copy of their most critical data in the cloud, while the new Express Wizard helps users back up all critical data in five easy steps.
Confusing and over-loaded interfaces may require training, excessive administration time, and have a greater potential for user error. For a task most users need to accomplish without much experience and little time, NovaStor has designed a new interface with quick access to the most important features. Clear instructions aim to ensure that nothing important, such as the definition of a back-up target or selection of a back-up type, is neglected or skipped.
Backing up to the cloud increases data security by ensuring that critical data is protected against local errors. Adding cloud storage to the selection of back-up devices also protects users against the late discovery that a local back-up device is no longer readable.
Cloud storage is fully integrated and can be chosen as a destination during the wizard-guided back-up process.
Stefan Utzinger, CEO at NovaStor, said: 'User error often causes a great number of data losses, while overly complex software may prevent proper back-up and restore. By simplifying the user interface we ensure that users will always have a functional back-up process in place for the restoration of their critical data when it’s needed most.'
