Stream thermal fluid analysis system

Altair has added Stream, a thermal fluid analysis system produced by Software Cradle, to the HyperWorks Partner Alliance (HWPA). HyperWorks users can now download the latest version of Stream from the HWPA website and use the software at little or no incremental cost through their existing HyperWorks software license system.
According to Altair, the addition of Stream to the HyperWorks platform was preceded by the growing adoption of Software Cradle's CFD application SC/Tetra within the HWPA. Whereas SC/Tetra uses an unstructured mesh to enable the calculation of complex geometries, the Stream CFD software captures geometric shapes as approximated structured meshes - either Cartesian or cylindrical. This method is especially advantageous, Altair states, for design engineers in need of stability, high computational speed and low memory consumption for models with many parts composed of predominantly rectangular shapes.
Applications of the Stream software include indoor air conditioning systems, environmental assessment of wind, and electronics cooling. Industries such as construction, civil engineering, electronics, chemical and automotive utilise Stream's MultiBlock meshing functions, material property library, high computational speed and robust calculation solver for their CFD analysis.
