NextComputing has added the quad-core Intel Xeon processor LV5430, 2.66GHz to its line-up of NextDimension flextop computers and Vigor rugged portables, as well as the NextServer Evo rackmount server.
The Intel 5400 chipset improves data movement across Intel Xeon processor 5400 series-based workstations and HPC systems by increasing interconnect bandwidth, optimising system bandwidth, increasing memory capacity and improving network traffic processing while reducing I/O latency. The Intel Xeon processor 5400 series with quad-core technology helps provide businesses with the compute power necessary for HPC applications and workstation solutions.
The series delivers up to 30 per cent higher performance for most HPC applications and up to 50 per cent higher performance for optimised workloads over previous generation Intel quad-core processors, ideal for compute intensive applications within NextComputing's end user groups in industries like digital media, test and measurement, medical imaging, and the military and government.
Intel 's Xeon quad-core 2.66GHz processors are available on the NextDimension Pro and Pro HD, the NextDimension Evo and Evo HD, the Vigor Pro SD and Evo HD, as well as the new NextServer Evo.
