Xcelerit, a software company that specialises in cross-platform acceleration tools for engineering and scientific research, has announced the availability of the Xcelerit SDK, a software toolkit to boost the performance of compute-intensive applications while preserving programmers' productivity.
Aimed at domain specialists using heavy computations in their daily work, the Xcelerit SDK can generate highly-optimised code for a variety of target processors. These include multi-core CPUs, GPUs and combinations in a grid. The programming interface is intuitive and suitable for many classes of algorithms, such as Monte-Carlo, N-body, signal processing, linear algebra or spectral analysis. Users are free to focus on the core of their algorithm, rather than addressing parallelism and low-level hardware details, but can generate high-performance programs.
