DaimlerChrysler Buses has selected LMS Test.Lab to increase efficiency in the vehicle development process. The software will measure the noise and vibrations within the vehicles.
In recent years DaimlerChrysler has reduced the interior noise of its vehicles by 6 decibels. LMS Test.Lab will enable the engineers to efficiently identify the root cause of any noise vibration exceeding specifications.
It is a multi-channel system, with signals from accelerometers mounted on the engine, axles or chassis, and microphones in the passenger compartment, providing the input for analysis, post-processing and report generation tools.
The ability to perform a wide range of vibro-acoustic tests provides greater flexibility for DaimlerChrysler, and takes less time than working with individual systems. In addition the automated reporting feature allows test documentation to be produced in minutes rather than days.
