ISC 08 seeks birds of a feather
7 March 2008Tweet
The 2008 International Supercomputing Conference (ISC '08), the high performance computing event in Europe, has invited the worldwide HPC community to submit abstracts for research posters and Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions for this summer’s conference.
The deadline for submitting both BoF and poster session abstracts is 12 April 2008 and notification of acceptance will 1 May 2008. Both the Research Poster Session and the BoFs are open to conference attendees and exhibitors. BoF sessions will be held Wednesday afternoon, 18 June 2008. Each BoF will last 45 minutes, with sessions held in parallel during each 45-minute interval. BoFs provide an informal discussion forum where participants can discuss new ideas and exchange information on topics of mutual interest. Each BoF session will have a different theme and will be coordinated by one or more individuals with an interest and expertise in the topic area.
Posters will be available for viewing at the Posters Reception and Exhibition Opening Party on Tuesday evening, 17 June, and during exhibition hours Wednesday 18 June and Thursday 19 June. A prize will be awarded for best poster. Research posters were added to the ISC conference events in 2006 and showcase innovative research projects and research results in an informal, interactive setting. Posters may focus on technical or scientific issues and may target developers or users. Submissions are welcome from conference participants at universities and public research institutes as well as from corporations in the HPC industry. The international high performance computing community can also take advantage of earlyregistration discounts for the event with advance registration open now and continuing until 17 May 2008.
