Two laboratory informatics companies have issued separate statements on a successful 2007, and both LabWare and Kinematik hope to build on that success in 2008.
KineMatik added customers, driving licence and services revenue during 2007. The company cites the continued development of the eNovator product suite, plus the expansion of the KineMatik sales and marketing organisation as helping contribute to its growth.
New customers included Sandia National Laboratories, Gen-Probe, BioMarin, Edgewood Chemical and Biological Centre, ETC, Cobalt Biofuels, Dublin City University, and the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology. Existing customers expanding their eNovator installations included Actogenix, Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, Ferring, Celera Diagnostics, and others.
LabWare has reported sales of its LabWare LIMS have again achieved impressive growth as results are finalised for 2007. Much of LabWare’s success in 2007 relates to multi-site, global LIMS projects serving hundreds of end-users as more and more companies choose to standardise on a single LIMS platform for their entire manufacturing and/or R&D operations.
Dr Bob Hillhouse, managing director of LabWare Europe, said: 'We are very excited with the 2007 results. We are increasingly celebrating multi-million dollar, global contracts and feel that the year on year sales growth our company is enjoying is not unlike the momentum SAP has achieved in the ERP sector. LabWare has worked hard to build a LIMS product that provides our customers with considerable long-term value from both a functional and commercial perspective. Furthermore, we have continued to invest in global support infrastructure with direct representation via LabWare owned offices located around the world rather than choosing to work through partner companies. We are a large company but we strive to maintain the expertise and personal contact that customers often associate with local suppliers. More and more companies are recognising the unique strengths of LabWare as they select a strategic LIMS partner.'
LabWare expects that the upcoming 2008 Version 6 release of LabWare LIMS will further extend the companies lead. The product's web interface will integrate the latest AJAX technology providing a much more interactive end-user experience as well as web-browser independence allowing the LIMS to be accessed from a wide range of devices such as the new iPhone from Apple.
