Allotrope Foundation and Osthus to develop open framework for laboratory data

Allotrope Foundation has partnered with Osthus to develop its open framework for laboratory data. Following the deal, Osthus will provide consulting services to Allotrope, as well as the design, coding and implementation of the framework.
Allotrope Foundation is an international, not-for-profit consortium of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies that is dedicated to developing an innovative, open Framework (metadata dictionaries, data standards, and class libraries) for managing analytical data throughout its lifecycle. This effort is fully funded by the members of Allotrope and is iteratively delivering a novel Framework and proof-of-concept applications built using the Framework. According to the consortium, the goal is not to ‘reinvent the wheel’, but to adopt existing or emerging standards where possible, and drive their adoption through software that instantiates them.
