Partnership to simplify Big Data analysis

Xyratex, a provider of data storage technology, has partnered with Pentaho to develop what it describes as a fully integrated Big Data analytics and scalable storage solution.
The combined offerings, which will be released later this year, will help organisations decrease the amount of hardware and software required to complete major data analysis projects – and unlock the potential of Big Data while delivering lower total cost of ownership (TCO) to users.
Pentaho Business Analytics unifies data integration and business analytics capabilities into a single modern, highly-embeddable platform. Comprehensive research carried out by analysts found Pentaho to excel in TCO, return on investment, robust functionality, agility and overall performance for Big Data, OEM and enterprise users.
'The combination of Xyratex and Pentaho will give users the ability to manage their vast and growing data challenges on one integrated platform,' said Eddie White, executive vice president of business development at Pentaho.
'Large data silos, limited to no access for key users and the complexity and cost of buying separate stand-alone products to manage data have undermined users’ abilities to derive value from Big Data.
'With our joint appliances, users will be able to leverage the power and scale of Hadoop, the incredible performance of the Xyratex ClusterStor data storage family and Pentaho’s Business Analytics platform to significantly reduce time to value and realise optimal business value from their data at the lowest possible cost.'
