Big-name vehicle manufacturer chooses virtual simulation software

2 April 2007

PSA Peugeot Citroën has selected LMS Virtual.Lab from LMS International as the simulation platform for vehicle design. The car manufacturer plans to use the software over several years with a community of over 500 users.

Virtual.Lab will be used to model critical features such as the system dynamics, structural integrity, NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) and the acoustics. It is hoped the software will help PSA to integrate all simulation tasks into the core design process, and provide a bridge between the different disciplines involved.

Jean-Luc Perrard, vice president of product and process information technology at PSA Peugeot Citroën, said: ‘This integration strongly increases the efficiency in creating sub-system and vehicle models and delivers optimal collaboration between design and engineering teams.’
